Each DVD contains two sessions which are similar to a piano lesson and then two workshops which are similar to practice sessions. The plays along CD’s give the feeling that you are actually playing along with a band. The workbook is there to follow along with the DVD’s, to play along with the CD’s or to simply take notes in.

This piano course is huge yet very simple to navigate through. All the lessons have been carefully put together. The DVD’s, CD’s and workbook keep you organized and moving at a steady pace. The lessons are based around popular songs most will be familiar with. Each lesson has information bubbles which contain key ideas, playing tips, noteworthy ideas and nuggets. All of these aspects build even more connection from lesson to lesson and from lesson to student. Finally, everything is tied together by Will Barrow, a Grammy-winning pianist. As the teacher he has an interesting playing style that keeps you motivated, informed, inspired and entertained.

Fun Factor – These are very, very fun lessons. The play along CD’s is awesome and really gives you a feel for what it is like playing with a band. The use of popular music really keeps it interesting. It will have you thinking “I’ve always wanted to be able to play that”. The DVD lessons are shot very well and have interesting transitions from one concept to the next. This keeps the lessons very visually appealing as well.

Value – How can you put a value on a course of this magnitude? First, there are 28 sessions on the DVD’s which are equivalent to 28 piano lessons. In my area that is 500-1000 dollars! Second, it would also be hard to find a teacher that would record your lessons and give you a DVD to take home. Third, how often can you find a full band to play with? Learn and Master Piano is an incredible value in my books.

Learn and Master Piano is one of those products that make me say wow. It invokes pure pleasure, joy and a sense of accomplishment with each lesson. A teacher should always have the ability to inspire and these lessons do just that.

Learn and Master Piano isn’t about being a professional classical pianist or advancing through different levels of repertoire. It’s all about learning how to play popular piano for friends, family, yourself or just plain fun. If you’re a beginner or intermediate popular pianist this course will serve you well. If you have always learned by rote or in a classical style and want to explore this type of piano playing then you are in for a treat. If you’re just looking for another piano lesson product to add to your collection because you are addicted…then by all mean get this piano course.
