Hand Independance Takes Time

Many people have trouble getting both hands going at the same time when they first start playing the piano. This is normal. It’s something new.

I do not know how else to tell you this but hand independence takes time. It can actually take lots of time. So what do we do for the time being?

The easiest way to counter this problem is to simply practice the right and left hands separately. Once you have each hand down then put them together. Make sure you take it slow at first. It’s more important to play it right at a slow speed than to play it fast with tons of mistakes.

Remember…practice separate, then together slowly and finally, up to speed. This should get you playing the piano in no time!
