I Can’t Help It…My Fingers Stutter!
Do you ever feel like your fingers stutter. Sure, you know what you want them to do at the piano but they just won’t budge at the right time. I call it stuttering fingers.
Is the problem in the fingers, somewhere in the brain or a little of both. I’d like to think it’s a little of both.
I’ve found that when my fingers are not working with me it’s because they are not yet ready to. They may not be strong enough, fast enough or just don’t know what to do.
How do I remedy stuttering fingers??? I slow down and play it right. This is necessary whenever you are new at the piano or just started some new materials you are not yet familiar with.
Stuttering fingers are a sure sign you are getting what you need which is practice. We all need consistant practice to get better so give those stuttering fingers a chance to get rid of the jitters.
