Three Piano Practice Tips To Get You Playing Fast
May 6th, 2008 • Related • Filed Under
After a number of years I have found a few things that can actually speed up the process. They may seem simple but they actually work. Here they are.
- Keep Practice Regular - This is so important. We need regular daily practice if we want to learn quickly. Twenty minutes a day five days a week is much better than one hour a day three times a week. Keep your piano practice regular, make it a daily devotion.
- Get Piano Stuff Into Muscle Memory - New scales and chords follow patterns. Don’t just memorize these scales and chords with your mind, memorize them with your hands. Get the shapes of what you are learning down. You’ll speed up the learning process by doing so.
- Leave Yourself Wanting More - This is very important. Do not burn yourself out. Leave each practice session wanting more. This built up desire will serve you well in your next practice session.
As simple as these tips may seem they do actually work. Go ahead and give them a try for at least a week and see what you think. I am sure your piano playing will make leaps and bounds.
